So I'm putting together another machine, I already bought pretty much everything I need except for the proc and mobo. I'm going to go with the Intel i7 860 Lynnfield for the proc and there is a package deal for with a mobo that includes USB 3.0, has a couple 6Gb/s SATA ports along with the 3 Gb/s ones.
it is here: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813131634
I'm wondering what I get, and if it's enough to justify another $80 if I would buy this: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813131594
It's got more pci slots, but no USB 3.0 and no 6 Gb/s SATA slots either. Seems like a no-brainer for me to get the other one...am I wrong?
Or...is there a better mobo for me to pick up for around $200ish?
Thanks folks,
Teh Fu of To

The Gigabyte one is a little less and a Tom's Hardware top choice. Just remember you have to get enough new memory as well, darn triple channels as D has explained to me :)

I wasnt making fun, just pointing out that it wasnt a typo.
Would you have felt better if I would have said "UK spelling intended?"

I haven't researched parts since I bought my last rig, about 5+ months ago... and that was when 6 gb/s SATA was still in its relative infancy. So, I don't have much to offer for help. :/
I can say that I'm jealous you'll get the quad core, 6 gb/s SATA AND the ability to run 2 cards SLI without bottlenecking. That really is ideal.

I have no advice, sorry. Well, I do, but you purchased those components so it's too late.
